Winter Walk to School Day 2014

With the success and enthusiasm in Wisconsin and across the nation for International Walk to School Day, East Central Wisconsin RPC and its SRTS partners are promoting a statewide winter event to encourage walking to school year-round. Wednesday, February 5th 2014 is the 1st Winter Walk to School Day in Wisconsin. Click below to sign-up your school and let us know about your event. Saris Poster Contest 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Saris Cycling Group Fifth Grade National Bicycling Poster Contest. Participating 5th grade students must create a poster around the famous John F. Kennedy quote, “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.” Posters are due March 7th. Contest rules and parent permission slip, along with other information about the contest, are available on the Saris website. Please forward this information to principals and teachers in your district who would be interested in participating. WisDOT would like a minimum of 20 schools to participate in this contest.

The second staff member hired for the Milwaukee office 10 years ago, Jessica created and runs Bike Fed’s statewide Safe Routes to School Programs, Bike Camps, and adult bicyclist and motorist education programs.
