Join Our Team: Openings in Milwaukee, Madison and Across the State

Share & Be Aware Ambassadors deliver bike/walk safety education in multi-county regions through classes and outreach events to make walking and biking even safer by educating all road users.

Multiple openings exist across the state in Milwaukee, Madison, and Eau Claire/Northwest WI. Other locations determined on a case by case basis. Regions will be determined based on the locations of the most qualified applicants.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who enjoys people, walking, biking, working independently, and delivering safety education.
Details
$13/hour, part-time, Limited Term Employment
10-20 hours per week, June through October with a mandatory paid training in June, Exact start dates are flexible
Ambassadors must set their own schedule, work from home and in community
at least 5 weekend work days per month and travel is required
50 cent Midseason raises for high performers
Spanish speaking and writing ability greatly desired
Responsibilities
Schedule and teach bike/walk safety classes, give presentations at businesses and organizations
Schedule, travel to, and attend events in the region to do safety education outreach
Develop partnerships and opportunities to meet Share & Be Aware education goals
Author occasional blog posts to support program goals and share your work in the community
Requirements
Provide own computer and internet access
Outgoing, people person
Self starter who can work remotely and responsibly
Passion for walking and bicycling with ability to travel across multiple counties (car not required but helpful, all mileage is reimbursed)
Ability to learn and follow all bicycling and walking laws
Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills

About Jessica Wineberg, Program Director

The second staff member hired for the Milwaukee office 10 years ago, Jessica created and runs Bike Fed’s statewide Safe Routes to School Programs, Bike Camps, and adult bicyclist and motorist education programs. Jessica lives in the Riverwest neighborhood with her husband Christian and son Everett.
