Wauwatosa Native Matt Busche on Riding the Tour de France

Local hero Matthew Busche made it to the big show this year as as the only American riding for Trek Factory Racing‘s Tour de France squad. It is exciting for me to hear Phil Liggett mention “the rider from Wowatoza” in the same breath as cycling legends like Fabian Cancellara and Jens Voigt. While it is fun to watch for Matt in the daily coverage of the Tour, the well-spoken Wisconsinite maintains a daily blog with personal insights and has done some great interviews this year.

Matt’s opening photo on the Trek Factory Racing Team website.

If you want a humble midwestern view on what it like to race in the biggest annual sporting event in the world, shoulder to shoulder with the best racers on the planet, check out the video below or read his interview with Tom Held on The Active Pursuit and this Wauwatosa Now interview with his parents. You can also follow Matt on his a daily blog called On the Road Again or via his Twitter feed @MathewBusche.
