Support Mobile Bike Repair for the Community!

Our Mobile Repair Program has 2 goals.

1. Provide skill training and jobs for High School students in Milwaukee and Madison.

2. Bring bike mechanic services to under-served communities.

And we do all that BY CARGO BIKE!

This summer The Bike Fed expanded the Mobile Repair program into Madison, led by former Milwaukee Lead Mechanic staff, Pepe.

This program not only impacts those who receive the mechanic services by getting them back on their bikes, but helps build soft skills and job training for youth who can see immediate benefits to their learning and work.

“I learned how to work with others better, I am kind of anti-social” – Sunnie

“I learned how to have patience with customer and help them understand more about bikes” – Alaysia

“I have improved in my communication and ask more questions when I don’t understand something” – John

“It is a great asset to the community and it is helpful to both parties; the one who is offering, and the other benefits in bike knowledge.” – Jean

“I’ve learned how to be to work on time, clean up after you’re done, and have responsibility this summer” – Alaysia

Recently we received a donation in the amount of $5000 from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region Inc. To help make this donation go further in providing more youth jobs and more hours spent in the community servicing bikes we are asking for your help to match that amount.
