La Crosse is Gearing up for their 3rd Annual Labor Day Bicycle Festival

La Crosse is busy putting the last minute touches on their 3rd Annual Labor Day Bicycle Festival. This year’s event will kick off Thursday night with a packet pick up at the Pearl Street Brewery. The festival will include four days of self-guided bicycle rides through the picturesque driftless region. The rides will begin from Cameron Park. Beautiful maps including turn by turn directions  and ideas for places to stop for hydration and refueling.

Also a part of  the festival are urban guided tours with something for everyone. These rides include coffee, ice cream, architectural, and birding tours. These trips are perfect for anyone interested in a social ride looking for some well-thought out routes as well as safe bicycling practices to use on the ride.  Turn in a ticket after completing a ride to be eligible to win a  Bicycle Festival Registration Door Prize. The grand prize is a Wyatt Bicycle and a Bicycle Festival Jersey.

For families looking for more safety instruction, Mayo Clinic will be providing a Bike Safety Clinic on Saturday morning at their La Crosse Campus including a safety course, bike decorating, parade, and helicopter landing.

For riders interested in cooling down with some music, the Downtown Sound Music Festival will provide two days of music on pearl Street featuring five bands powered by a bicycle powered stage.

Look for the Wisconsin Bike Fed tent in Cameron Park on Friday or take one of the Ice Cream Rides to find some fun safe routes to some of your favorite ice cream shops.
