Lobby Day Scheduled for April 7th

Lobby Day 2015

The future of bicycling needs your help now more than ever.

Please join the Bike Fed for Bike Lobby Day at the State Capitol in Madison on Tuesday, April 7th. The day will get underway at 12:30pm with registration, followed by an hour of interesting presentations from the Bike Coordinating Council, some background on our issues and a brief “Lobbying 101” tutorial.

Then we’ll fan out around the building to meet with our State Senators and Assembly Representatives. We’ll be asking for three simple things:

  • Save the Complete Streets law.
  • Restore $2 million in bike and pedestrian funding cut by the Governor.
  • Restore the Stewardship Fund, which has been used to build or expand two dozen trails around the state.

Fifteen dollars will cover materials and we’ll end the day with a debriefing reception at a cozy place on the Capitol Square.

With cycling under attack, now is the time to make your voice heard! Join us on April 7th in Madison.

  1. I took part last year and will take part in it again this. My late wife’s foundation has donated money to the Bike Fed for a while. I’m not sure the “under Attack” is accurate as I see the bike lanes and everything involving biking improving. One exception would be the group of 40 who continually blow thru every stop sign every time they go by. I did it for years too as part of a team. Rules apply to us too! Be careful
