Ride Across Wisconsin Registration is Open!

Come Ride Across Wisconsin members of the Trek Factory Racing Team and special guest Jens Voigt.

We are happy to open registration for the second annual Ride Across Wisconsin! After a wildly successful inaugural Ride Across Wisconsin last August, are keeping the same route with a few minor tweaks, including a ceremonial lap around the Kenosha Bowl right before the finish. We have been assured that Jens Voigt and Trek Factory Racing have RAW on their calendars, so everyone will get to ride shoulder to shoulder with some of the fastest and nicest racers in the pro peloton.

As a thank you to the 490 Founders who took a leap of faith and signed up for the inaugural 2015 Ride Across Wisconsin when we had very few details, we are giving you and your friends a special discount for early registration even cheaper than anyone else! Everyone who rode with us last August should have received an email containing a special code you can use to get an additional discount on the already discounted early registration fee.

Founders are also allowed to share their special discount code with friends!

Last year only 14% of our riders last year were women, we only had a handful people of color on the ride, and just a couple juniors. To try to improve the diversity on our Ride Across Wisconsin we will be reaching out to the larger equity cycling groups like the The Bellla Donnas, The Velo Femmes,  Black Girls Do Bike Milwaukee, The Women’s Cycling Association, Red, Bike and Green, The Major Taylor Cycling Club and teams with large junior programs like ISCorp to offer a group discount to encourage their members to give RAW a try.

We have invited Rahsaan Bahati and Ayesha McGowan to join us on the ride and hope to have a U18 elite rider from the ISCorp Presented by SmartChoice MRI team as well!

Please email me if your club or team is interested in our group discount rate.

Also new this year, we are offering a two day option. The first day, all riders leave at 6 AM with a mass start from downtown Dubuque. Those who sign up for the two day option ride the first 103 hilly miles to Beloit, where they can spend the night. Beloit threw a pretty great party at their rest stop last year, so we are confident they will show all the two-day riders a good time that night. Riders will then leave Beloit Sunday and we will keep the party rolling for you in Kenosha.

Beloit hit one out of the park with their rest stop last year, so we are confident they will throw a great party for the riders who choose the two day option and spend Saturday night there.

The two-day option should broaden the appeal of this ride to a larger audience, but don’t think it will be easy. That first day is a pretty lumpy century!

We are also proud to announce our lunch stops will be catered by Peter Sandroni, the awesome farm to table chef owner of La Meranda and Engine Company 3 in Milwaukee. Peter is not only a great chef who will source all the ingredients from Wisconsin farmers, he is an avid cyclist so he knows the nutritional needs of riders. They also make their own delicious soda, with natural ingredients and no high fructose corn syrup. They can even add electrolytes to the soda, so stay tuned for the lunch menu and cool flavors he comes up with for RAW!
