Once again we are happy to welcome back Jens Voigt along with members of the Trek-Segafredo team. Jens is one of the most genuinely nice people in all of professional cycling. We don’t know how many years he will keep coming back, so don’t miss this opportunity to ride handlebar to handlebar with a legend.  Friday night The Jensie will also entertain us with his tales from the pro peloton at the Q&A with Robbie Ventura at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque.

Riding with the Trek Segafredo team is like scrimmaging with the Green Bay Packers, except you won’t get hurt!

For 2018, we will be riding the same gorgeous, low traffic 175-mile route as 2017, with a couple minor changes depending on where they add chip seal. You can see more photos of our gorgeous route at the Bike Fed’s Photoshelter site here.

There are a few other significant changes for 2018.  The biggest is that we have replaced the two-day option with a 105-mile one day ride from Dubuque to Beloit. Once in Beloit, 105-mile riders can grab lunch in Beloit when they finish and then take a bus to Kenosha so everyone can celebrate together at the finish party.

Jensie gets his beer at the finish party in Kenosha last year.

We made this change for a couple reasons. The two-day option was never very popular, but it almost doubled our logistical work, staffing needs and expenses. We have also heard from a lot of two-day riders that they probably could have finished in one day.

So the 105-mile option gives riders the ability to test their legs on the prettiest (and hilliest) part of the route without worrying about not finishing. It also gives riders the option to keep going if they get into Beloit early enough and think they can finish in one day. If you are ending your ride in Beloit, you will either need to purchase the bus trip back to Kenosha when you register or find your own way back.

So what are you waiting for? Register to Ride Across Wisconsin with us!
