National Bike to School Day May 8th

Well that Spring was fun right everyone?! Now back to false spring or Late Winter or 3rd Winter if you want to call it that is here. But we can look forward to May 8th and hope for sunny skies and streets, paths, and bike racks full again!

We love to celebrate individual choices in alternative transportation so make it a walk to school, skate to school, or scoot to school day as well!

How ever your school chooses to celebrate make sure to register your event so you get counted! It also gives you access to great templates and sticker designs and ideas.

Walking and Biking to school is proven to help students be better prepared for their day of learning!

If you are Milwaukee Public School contact Michael Anderson, Michael.Anderson@wisconsinbikefed.org to get stickers and tokens to hand out as incentives.

If you are up in The Fox Valley Area contact East Central Regional Planning Staff  http://eastcentralsrts.org/about-us/srts-staff

In LaCrosse area reach out to Ginny or Becky: https://www.getactivelacrosse.org/be-active/safe-routes-to-school/

Some schools I have worked with in past can’t make May 8th work due to variety or reasons. That is OK! May is Bike Month and no one can tell you when to celebrate at your schools, so pick a day that works for your community and have fun!
