Wisconsin Bike Week is fast approaching!
Wisconsin Bike Week invites people who enjoy cycling or are just getting started with a full week of group rides, workshops, and other bike related events.
The celebration starts in most cities on Saturday, June 1st and runs through Saturday, June 8th.
Wisconsin Bike Week is also known as “Bike to Work Week.” A while back the Bike Fed renamed Bike to Work Week simply to “Bike Week,” in order to be more inclusive beyond the daily bicycle commute. Don’t worry, we’re still pumping bacon and other breakfast goodies on your way to work at locally supported commuter stations.
We encourage you to explore your cities and towns on two wheels as a broad message for personal and public health, and for FUN!
This year Madison, Milwaukee, and La Crosse will host the largest list of events.
If you’re in La Crosse, check out, the Bicycle Benefits tour, Saturday, June 8th from 1-3 pm, an opportunity to explore businesses supporting arriving by bike and Open Streets La Crosse Sunday, June 9th from 1-4pm A day downtown traffic free, full of activities to support community health and wellness!
Those in the Milwaukee area are invited to join us on Thursday, June 6 from 5 – 9 p.m. at the world’s only Harley-Davidson Museum as we put our own spin on their legendary Bike Night. After meeting up at Bike Fed HQ at 4:30 pm, we’ll lead a group ride along the Hank Aaron State Trail to the H-D Museum for free live music, delicious food and drink specials, and a slew of drool-worthy bikes – motorized, electrified and pedal-powered. Don’t miss the H-D Museum’s replica 1917 bicycle display and be sure to stop by our tent to learn more about the Ride with Pride*, taking place on Saturday, June 8.
¡Vamos Juntos! Let’s Ride! If you’re in Madison go to madisonbikes.org/bikeweek for a FULL schedule of over 50 awesome rides and commuter stations, including the Madison Bikes Party at Brittingham Park on Friday, 6/7!
