The Pedal Out Hunger Ride is a community oriented, family-friendly fundraiser created to raise funds to support The Salvation Army of Oshkosh’s feeding programs. Nearly one in ten Oshkosh households turn to The Salvation Army food pantry for emergency food assistance each year. Another 40,000 hot meals are typically prepared each year for area homeless and local residents experiencing financial crisis.
The Pedal Out Hunger Ride is a 13.7 mile max leisurely bike ride along the riverfront and the surrounding countryside. Three route choices are available. The routes this year is again being mapped by event co-sponsor Wheel and Sprocket of Oshkosh.
There will be group start at 10am led out by the Oshkosh Police Department. Algoma Blvd at Jackson St will be temporarily closed to traffic at the start of the ride to ensure everyone’s safety. The marked route will return you to your original starting location. An average person should be able to complete the route in under two hours.
There will be a lunch in the new Salvation Army facility immediately afterward with live music and lots of potential prizes for the kids. The first 50 event day arrivals receive a commemorative Pedal Out Hunger water bottle.
An individual registration is $25. A family registration is $50. For those unable to attend or not comfortable with an in-person event, but still would like to support the cause, there is $20 virtual rider option.
