Take one Great Lake, two states, two famous ferry boats and add your bike, and you’ll get a great 200-mile week of bicycling!
This tour starts in Milwaukee at about noon on Sunday, when the ferry arrives. You’ll meet up with our Michigan guests and tour staff for an afternoon ride, first to our lunch stop at Estabrook Park, and then on to Port Washington for the night.
Monday, we continue north to Manitowoc for one night, and then Tuesday morning shoreline rides before boarding the famous steamship Badger for our afternoon crossing to Ludington, Michigan. There’s a full layover day in Ludington allowing you time to explore some great rural cycling and lovely sandy beaches. Thursday, we head south on a combination of quiet country roads and paved rail trail into Whitehall for our last night out. Friday the tour ends with arrival at the ferry dock in Muskegon, where you’ll receive your ticket on the afternoon ferry back to Milwaukee.
This tour is 100% paved including 50% rail trail, exclusive of the layover day in Ludington. Five nights of lodging, breakfast and lunch x 5, plus group dinner on Sunday and Thursday nights. Add on our sag stops, luggage transfer, staff and mapping and you’ll have a great week!
