Women’s History Month
All cyclists are awesome! During Women’s History Month we give a special salute to trailblazers like Kittie Knox, Edith Shuler, and Janesville-raised Frances Willard who broke barriers that led the way for women cyclists, and recognize those who are making an impact now for an even brighter future

GRiT – Girls Riding Together is a program associated with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). The program is designed to recruit and retain more girls and female coaches in NICA programs and to simply get more girls on bikes. Nationally, girls represent 20% of NICA’s student athlete participation, and in Wisconsin in 2023, 23% of athletes were female. Mentor and Ambassador roles in the program help build a strong community within their team and around the state. There is nothing more powerful than attempting a feature or an uphill climb with a group of girls standing by to cheer each other on and build confidence!
