The Bike Fed Goes Behind the Scenes at Trek, Raises $100,000 for Programs

On the evening of November 20th, the halls of Trek Bicycle HQ came alive for the Bike Fed’s fall fundraiser. Over 300 guests went Behind the Scenes at Trek – having a ball and raising over $100,000 to support cycling education, safety and advocacy initiatives.

Tours of Trek included visits to the design lab for a discussion of the design process of Trek bikes.  Guests got their hands on some of Trek’s pro athlete bikes in the Race Shop and witnessed stress and fatigue testing in the Testing Lab.  Trek President, John Burke, welcomed guests to a cozy lounge under the iconic Pine Knoll Supper Club sign to hear stories of the Company’s founding, sip handmade old fashioneds, and receive autographed copies of his book.

Guests also enjoyed a wine tasting, sponsored by Trek Travel, and dined on Build-Your-Own bowls, burritos, and ice cream sundaes. Silent and live auctions included one-of-a-kind Project One Madone frame sets, bicycles, bike gear and fabulous getaways.

The Bike Fed is extremely grateful to our host and generous event sponsor, Trek Bicycle. Other generous contributors included:  Wheel and Sprocket, Bicycle Doctor, Saris, Trek Travel and the Galloway Company. A huge thank you to all who attended, donated items and participated in our auction online!  Together we continue to make cycling in Wisconsin even better!
