Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the WDNR’s Hank Aaron State Trail with retired Trail Manager Melissa Cook. Hosted by the Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail, this is our 5th annual spring ride with Melissa,  who as the inaugural trail manager, was instrumental in establishing this 14-mile paved multi-use urban trail that runs through the heart of Milwaukee as a continuous east-west connection from the shores of Lake Michigan at Lakeshore State Park to the Milwaukee/Waukesha county line. A casual 12-mile “down and back” ride on a flat off-road course,  the route crosses the Menomonee River in view of American Family Field, passes through the historic Milwaukee VA Soldiers Home and Wisconsin State Fair Park with a turn around at the western end and a return to the Menomonee River Valley start. The spring ride is free and welcome to all.
