The Wauwatosa Rec is partnering with the Wisconsin Bike Fed to provide an Adventure Bike Camp for young people who are/were enrolled in grades 5-8 in the 2024/2025 School Year. Camp will take place on June 23-June 27 from 9 AM – 4 PM at Wilson Elementary School, Community Room. 1060 Glenview Ave.
The Bike Fed’s team of expert Safe Routes Instructors will lead your child through a Bicycle Driver’s Ed curriculum, team building activities, group riding skills, and take adventures by Bike!
Adventure Bike Camps are for young people ready to demonstrate grit; you should expect your child to be riding 18+ miles/day. We will return them to you tired out and restful so you can have a calm evening at home. We will ride to popular destinations far and wide throughout Milwaukee County, creating meaningful experiences not only for recreation but also for enrichment.
We take frequent breaks for play, water, and rest. Children who may have only been on 5-10 mile rides quickly build the stamina and confidence to trek around the county. Our location on Honey Creek Parkway gives us great access to trail systems.
We will have a small fleet of bicycles available for your child to borrow and ride. Please send your child with a helmet, water bottle, and back-pack capable of storing their lunch. If you have any obstacles or limited resources let us know and our Bike Fed team will work on meeting these challenges with you and provide items for you.
