Waking up after a cancer diagnosis and choosing to push forward—that’s brave. Spending years in a lab, chasing the next breakthrough against the odds—that’s relentless. Pedaling farther than you ever have, pushing past your limits—that’s audacious.

We’ve all been touched by cancer—through friends, family, or firsthand experience. Audaxity is more than a bike ride; it’s a movement uniting researchers, patients, survivors, and supporters to fuel groundbreaking research at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center. Go the distance with us—because every mile matters. And thanks to the unwavering support of our founding sponsors, 100% of rider-raised funds power research breakthroughs to beat cancer to the finish line.

“Audaxity was started with the belief that we can do more, right here at home,” said Nelson Williams, CEO of Briohn Building Company and co-chair of Audaxity. “Cancer is very personal to me and my family, and we want to encourage everyone – riders and non-riders alike – to join us and eradicate cancer right here in Wisconsin.”

Whether you ride five, 25, 50, or 100 miles, this challenge will push your limits. Take on the 5-mile family-friendly Cruiser Ride around American Family Field, the 25-mile City Loop through Milwaukee’s scenic riverfront, the 50-mile Challenge Ride on Wisconsin’s rural roads, or the 100-mile Century Ride around Wisconsin’s breathtaking landscapes. No matter the route, you’re supporting real people and fueling research that’s saving lives.

Riding for Resilience

After losing his mother-in-law to lung cancer and facing his own stage 4 diagnosis, Scott is now thriving—and riding in Audaxity to give back, fuel research, and ensure no one faces cancer alone.

For Scott Lynch, cancer’s impact is deeply personal.

“My wife and I bought the home that her parents built in 1952,” Scott recalled. “We kept her mom with us until she passed away from lung cancer in November 2020 at age 99.”

Just five months after his mother-in-law was diagnosed, Scott was also diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. “Fact is stranger than fiction,” he said. The same Froedtert & MCW oncology team that cared for his mother-in-law was now treating him.

Today, Scott is thriving, and he’s incredibly grateful. You’d never know he once faced a cancer diagnosis. But his journey isn’t just about survival; it’s about giving back. He’s determined to make sure that everyone facing cancer has the same opportunity to receive the latest treatments and exceptional care. He’s built a community of people who’ve walked a similar path, offering support, a listening ear, and encouragement.

Since January, he’s been training for Audaxity, proving the power of resilience and community. Now, he’s encouraging others to get involved in the ride.

“Everyone knows someone impacted by cancer. Get involved—it matters to you or someone you love,” he said.

Scott’s story is a reminder that no one faces cancer alone. Every dollar raised through Audaxity fuels research and care, giving people like Scott a future. We ride for every survivor, every family, and every breakthrough ahead.

Beyond the Lab: The Science Behind Audaxity

Turning Breakthroughs into Lifesaving Treatments. MCW researchers and clinicians working together for a future without cancer.

At the MCW Cancer Center, researchers, clinicians, and physician-scientists are turning discoveries into real-world solutions that change lives. From uncovering new insights in the lab to testing cutting-edge therapies in clinical trials, every effort is connected and drives progress.

Jonathan Thompson, MD, a Froedtert & MCW medical oncologist specializing in lung cancer, is inspired to see his patient, Scott, riding in Audaxity.

“Scott is a great person and a prime example of how lung cancer treatment has improved dramatically over the last decade. Many people are living longer, better lives thanks to research and clinical trials. These advancements allowed us to use new treatment strategies for Scott, leading to far better results than we could have previously achieved,” said Dr. Thompson.

Still, cancer remains a complex challenge that’s affecting people across Wisconsin. At the MCW Cancer Center, investigators are joining forces to turn bold discoveries into real solutions—because cancer won’t stop, and neither will they.

“Our researchers are relentless in their pursuit of finding solutions that change lives,” said Gustavo Leone, PhD, director of the MCW Cancer Center and Audaxity co-chair. “Audaxity is a powerful example of how a community coming together can strengthen this effort. Our goal is not only to raise money for cancer research but also build a united team, to solve these challenges together.”

Sign up today, rally your friends and family, and take on a ride that changes lives. Because Wisconsin deserves a future without cancer.
