Businesses and Communities

Bicycles tend to be an indicator species of vibrant,  economically healthy communities. Where you see lots of people biking and walking, you often find successful businesses and healthy, happy communities.

There are many ways for businesses and communities to make it more convenient, safe and attractive for people to ride bicycles for transportation and recreation. The benefits for businesses and communities of more people cycling, are many. Employers see increased productivity and reduced health care costs. Communities see increases in property values and are more attractive places to live, work and do business.

The Bike Fed has a number of programs that are easy to implement, and can be tailored and scaled to your business or community. These programs are proven to get more people riding to work, to shop and for fun.

Please read on to find the membership category, level and benefits that best match your mission and commitment for advancing cycling in your community and our state. All memberships are active for one year based on the date you join and are eligible to be renewed annually to sustain your support for safe, fun, convenient biking for all.

Business Memberships (Corporate, Retail, Service)

All Wisconsin Bike Fed Business Members have benefits that help companies increase health and wellness of employees, improve retention, reduce time off, increase productivity, improve morale and creativity, attract a quality workforce, and become an even more valued part of the community. 

All Business Memberships include:

  • Corporate Policy Statement encouraging active transportation.
  • Four online fliers for employee education.
  • Art for billboards, yard signs, and safety fliers (stock and available for co-branding).
  • Bolded listing in annual Bike Fed Ride Guide magazine.

Bike Basics – Business  $250 

Bike Advocate – Business  $500

  • Choose ONE educational opportunity with suggested topics such as bike focus, Stop For Your Neighbor pedestrian advocacy, Bike Friendly Driver, etc. :
    • Lunch ‘n Learn (30 Minutes)
    • Online Learning Session (30 minutes)
    • Bike Fed Talk (3-5 minutes of Bike Fed approved content)
  • Two admissions to a Smart Cycling class or five Bike Fed t-shirts.

Bike Focus – Business $2,500

  • Bolded listing in annual Bike Fed Ride Guide magazine with optional logo.
  • Choose ONE educational opportunity with suggested topics such as bike focus, Stop For Your Neighbor pedestrian advocacy, Bike Friendly Driver, etc. :
    • Lunch ‘n Learn (30 Minutes)
    • Online Learning Session (30 minutes)
    • Bike Fed Talk (3-5 minutes of Bike Fed approved content)
  • Bike Friendly Business application assistance (five hours).
  • Online story about the bike friendliness of your business (posted on the Wisconsin Bike Fed website and shared by the Bike Fed).

Community Memberships (Municipality, CVBs, Community Development)

Wisconsin Bike Fed Community Memberships help improve the quality of active, healthy lifestyles in their community, improve the economics of the community, increase number of companies supporting biking and walking, and support organizations’ efforts to increase the number of miles of infrastucture available for biking and walking

    • Urban Riders – Park and Rec Youth Education
    • Bike Ambassadors – Neighborhood leadership on bikes.
    • Bike Rodeo – Train 10 local volunteers and hold a bike safety event for families.
  • Online story about the bike friendliness of your community (posted on the Wisconsin Bike Fed website and shared by the Bike Fed).

Additional programs are available to customize your community’s bike, walk and wellness culture. To assist with the economic development of your community, we offer ready to implement education and recognition programs in partnership with our Business Member.


Bike Shop Memberships

The Wisconsin Bike Fed Bike Shop memberships offer benefits to the store and support for the industry while working to make Wisconsin the safest and most beautiful place in the world to bike and walk. We want to help bike shops increase the number of people biking in their community by offering education, encouragement, events and resources to help support safe streets and confident riders.

All Bike Shop Memberships include:

  • Shop statement and safety briefing for new bike purchasers.
  • Art for billboards, yard signs, and safety fliers (stock and available for co-branding) and safety graphics for maps.
  • Bike Fed Staff Picks – POS material.

Wisconsin Bike Fed Advocacy/Non-Profit Memberships help organizations improve the quality of life in their communities. Our efforts will help you improve bike and pedestrian culture, increase the number of businesses supporting biking and walking, and build efforts to help increase the miles of infrastucture for biking and walking. We offer connections, resources and success stories to bring program facilitators together.
