The Friends of the Mountain Bay Trail – Shawano County will have their Annual Gathering from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at The Lighthouse, W6440 Gumaer Rd., Shawano.
The event will include a taco bar dinner, dessert, report of our accomplishments in 2023-24, plans for 2025, a great speaker, and door prizes.
Speakers will be Peter and Tracy Flucke, co-authors of “Coast to Coast on a Tandem” and “Biking Historic Route 66”. They own WE Bike, Etc., specializing in transportation infrastructure for pedestrians and bicyclists. They work to improve safety by assisting communities with engineering and planning of safe routes, education on traffic laws. They believe pedestrians and bicyclists in a community positively impact a community’s economic health. Their website is https://www.webike.org/. They will talk about their rides, and advocacy efforts for trails in Northeast Wisconsin.
