Whether you’re seeking a leisurely ride or craving an adrenaline rush, these signature routes offer something for every rider. Let’s take you on a journey through some of Eau Claire’s most iconic biking spots, where nature, adventure, and beauty collide!
Wisconsin State Trail Systems
Eau Claire anchors the Chippewa Valley Trail System—a scenic network that invites cyclists to explore the area’s natural beauty. The Chippewa River State Trail begins in downtown Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park and stretches 30 miles southwest to Durand, winding through river bottoms, prairies, and sandstone bluffs. From here, you can connect to the 14.5-mile Red Cedar State Trail, which leads to Menomonie, past farmlands and woodlands, before connecting near the Dunnville Wildlife Area.
To the north, the 19.5-mile Old Abe State Trail links Chippewa Falls to Cornell along the banks of the Chippewa River and offers access to Lake Wissota State Park. Together, these trails provide a diverse cycling experience, blending urban trailheads with quiet countryside and classic northwoods views.
Lowes Creek County Park
Craving dirt trails and elevation? Head to Lowes Creek County Park, just minutes from downtown. With over 15 miles of singletrack trails, this forested escape is a favorite for mountain bikers of all levels. Expect everything from smooth flow to root-filled thrills.
Pinehurst Park
For jumps, tricks, and skill-building, Pinehurst Park is the spot. With 3 miles of trails and progressive dirt features, it’s designed for riders of all ages. A partnership between OutdoorMore Inc. and the City of Eau Claire keeps this park growing as a go-to for trick biking adventures. Bonus: it transforms into a winter rec destination, too!

Brake for Bites & Brews
After some time on the saddle, you’ve earned a reward—and Eau Claire delivers. Whether you’re craving comfort food, craft beer, or a good cup of coffee, there’s no shortage of bike-friendly spots to pull over and fuel up.
Valley Burger Company is a go-to pit stop for indulgent eats. Located right off the Chippewa River State Trail near Water Street, their gourmet burgers and crowd-favorite fries are the perfect post-ride meal. A little further down the path, the Brewing Projekt offers bold craft brews and a killer rooftop view of the Chippewa River. Just down the street, Lazy Monk Brewing brings European-style lagers and a relaxed, bike-welcoming vibe to their riverside bier hall.
Looking for something sweet? Coast over to Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor or Olson’s Ice Cream and treat yourself to a scoop (or a few scoops) of locally loved flavors. For a mellow break with an espresso in hand, Racy D’Lenes Coffee Lounge offers creative drinks, cozy seating, and a laid-back atmosphere that cyclists love.
If your ride takes you west toward Menomonie, Brewery Nønic is a must. With a rotating selection of craft beers and a big patio made for unwinding, it’s a perfect ride break, especially during live music nights or food truck events. Or if you’re heading southwest towards Durand, a stop at Scatterbrain Cafe is essential for a fresh, delicious bike brunch. No matter your route, Eau Claire has the snacks, sips, and scenery to keep your ride delicious from start to finish.
