Congratulations to the 2021 NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks! The Deer District has been a destination with our bike rides over past few years.

Our Safe Routes To School Instructors celebrated the Bucks 2021 NBA Championship victory with students from our MPS partner site at O.W. Holmes by attending the Bucks Parade this past Thursday, July 22nd. The team rode from Holmes to the Deer District using Milwaukee’s pedestrian and bike friendly Riverwalk Way, hopping on the path from Pleasant Street to Knapp. Students enjoyed an assortment of freezy pops while shouting “Bucks in 6” at their favorite players, including Bobby Portis, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

O.W. Holmes has been one of our Safe Routes to School Sites throughout the pandemic.  To close out the Spring Bike Club and school year our final ride was to the Fiserv Forum where their executive Chef Clifford Hull, donated Cream City Cluckery for our riders. This was a wonderful way to wrap up a year working with and riding with these amazing young people.  This Summer The Deer District has continued to be one of our main destinations.

Taking a break along the Harbor District. It’s tough work cheering so hard!

Educating and encouraging kids and families on how to get to Fiserv.Forum by bike is a great way to have fun, save money on parking, and cheer on our Champions! Not just for these kids, but for anyone else in Milwaukee remember you can go by bike.

Thanks to Cream City Cluckery students had their own 50 piece!
