ORA Trails is stepping up our partnership with Trek Bicycles in 2026 and making our event better than ever. ORA Trails Fest is a true mountain bike weekend, with plenty of trails for the whole family to enjoy. Our enduro is on pause, but downhill riding will still be available for fun! We’re bringing back an uphill time trial Friday night, short track racing Saturday evening, and a full day of cross country racing on Sunday. Keep an eye out for our Saturday gravel race too!

In La Crosse we’re fortunate to be part of the Driftless region, an area in the Southwest corner of Wisconsin, touching parts of Minnesota and Iowa that missed the last several rounds of glaciation, which smoothed out much of the surrounding area. This has left us with 600′ bluffs towering over the beautiful Mississippi River.

The first mountain bike trails were built in the early 2000s, with some informal riding happening before that (our first WORS race was in the mid-90s!). Our berms were proudly featured in an IMBA guide on how to build trails. Since those days, our trails have grown and changed, adding machine built downhill but also keeping some of the old school technical trails that you know and love. The ORA Trails summer crew keep things running smooth and they’ll have us ready to rip in May!

We think La Crosse is a perfect venue to host a race! The trails are in a city park, and you can ride offroad, from downtown all the way to our venue. Or you can drive and experience what we call Bliss Road. We have fun categories for kids and beginners, all the way up to professional racers.

There are also a ton of other great things to enjoy in the city. The beautiful Grandad Bluff overlook now features multi-use trails, including some great mountain biking that won’t be impacted by the race. ORA has purchased a large tract of over 200 acres of land and is in the process of rehabbing and adding new trails, just a few short miles away.

And on top of all the great riding, we’re in a perfectly sized metro area of 100,000 people. We have great food, a variety of places to stay, including everything from campgrounds to 5 star hotels. Breweries and wineries? Yup, you betcha. Shopping too, in our cute downtown and in our extensive mall.

Add La Crosse to your 2026 calendar. Maybe you’ve already raced here and can’t wait to come back. Maybe you haven’t been yet, and don’t know what you’re missing. Either way, you’re guaranteed a great time. See ya real soon!
