Background
The Pelican Path is a multi-use trail that will give the Hustisford community and Lake Sinissippi community safe access to the Wild Goose State Trail and Glacial River Trail. This project stems from over a year of strategic planning by 20 planning and design professionals facilitated by UW-Extension as well as the PATH of Hustisford team, over 300 community surveys, and a Community Design meeting held in early May with the Hustisford community. At the follow-on implementation meeting held in July, volunteers came forward to implement the trail concept championed at the May meeting, and the “Pelican Path” term was coined.
Progress
Bike Fed has been involved with project stakeholders, assisting in getting Dodge County on board through a letter of support, and providing resources to the group through the 2022 Healthy Community Summit Grant Writing Workshop.
