Global Majority Mountain Bikers
Inviting All to Enjoy MTB
From August 21-24, 2025 the Chris Kegel Foundation hosted their annual Global Majority Mountain Bike Ride, Rally, and Race weekend.
On Friday, August 22, Bike Fed was on hand for all the fun and the opportunity to celebrate youth riders at Kletzsch Park for a day of learning.
Wheel and Sprocket had all manner of mountain bikes in various sizes for each kid to get on two wheels. Experienced coaches took kids from Escuela Verde, Milwaukee Public Schools, and plenty of visitors from out of town through their paces. They learned basic safety checks, and practiced skills like ready positions, even and equal braking, and bike-body separation before heading out on the trails to put their skills to use.
This annual event is intended to expand the mountain biking community. By bringing awareness to issues like poor trail access and low participation in urban areas, the growth of the sport is a primary objective. The event is open to mountain bikers from across the country, and riders of all abilities are welcome.
