The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced that they will be accepting public input in December 2023 on a few proposed administrative code changes. These changes cover a variety of topics, including state parks and trails, recreational areas across the state, fees, and permits. 

Some of the proposed changes that may interest the Bike Fed audience include: 

  • Fee Structures
  • Vehicle & Boat Use
  • General Public Land Use

Public input is a critical element of the rulemaking process in Wisconsin state agencies and contains a public review period and public hearing. Administrative Code Rule Changes – DNR Lands 

According to the Wisconsin DNR: 

The public comment period is open through Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023. Comments may be submitted by email, U.S. mail or at the virtual public hearing. All comments submitted in any format will have the same weight and effect. 

The virtual public hearing for this rule package is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required, and participants can register for the meeting at this link at any time until the hearing is concluded.
