After a successful Summit in 2022, Bike Fed is delighted to once again partner with the Wisconsin Office of Outdoor Recreation to present the Wisconsin Healthy Communities Summit on April 29th at the UW-Madison Union. Join us for information, ideas, and inspiration from national and local experts, then return home energized to make a difference!

In these weeks leading up to the Summit, we are delighted to highlight some of the dynamic speakers and presenters that are participating this year.

When you reserve your tickets by April 19th, you’ll be welcomed by the kick-off speaker who is one of Wisconsin’s experts on community health and our very own Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez:

A working mom, wife, and proud Wisconsinite, Lt. Gov. Rodriguez was elected to her current role on November 8, 2022.

Before running for office, Lt. Gov. Rodriguez built a career in public health and population health management. She held positions with public health departments at the local, state, and federal levels, including serving as an epidemic intelligence service officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the chronic disease director for the state of Colorado, a healthcare systems consultant, and a vice president at a Fortune 100 Company.

Given her background in healthcare and community health prior to holding political office in Wisconsin, Lt. Governor Rodriguez is the perfect individual to kick off the Summit. Lt. Governor Rodriguez cares deeply about community health across the state and is especially dedicated to protecting our environment as well as ensuring safe and reliable recreation is accessible for all. The Bike Fed, its members, partners, and advocates seek to create meaningful change for cyclists, pedestrians, and trail users around the state. Leaning on leaders like Lt. Governor Rodriguez, we can work together and make these meaningful changes a reality.

Find all the speakers and presenters (the list is still growing!) on the event website.

If you want to come to the Summit but your time is limited, consider joining us for the “Lunch & Keynote Only” ticket option for $27 (attend 12-2pm for Jessie Singer’s keynote speech plus lunch).
