If you are planning to join us, take advantage of these upcoming webinars to sharpen your skills as a bike advocate:

Webinar: Addressing Bicycle- Truck crashes

Bicyclist-Truck crashes are among deadliest crashes on the road. While large trucks comprise 4 percent of registered vehicles, they are involved in 10 percent of pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities (and 2-3x that in some cities). In this webinar we’ll hear from Alex Epstein, from the US DOT Volpe Center, an expert on large truck and vulnerable road user interactions, and what the research shows about the effectiveness of side guards. We’ll also hear from Marianne Karth of TEAM Underride- a group of survivor advocates who have been leading the fight for safer trucks.

Truck safety, and a call to require side underride guards, will be part of our ask for legislators at the National Bike Summit. This webinar is a deep dive into the research and the campaign to date.
