Village of Egg Harbor Seeking Input for Trails Plan
The Village of Egg Harbor seeks public input from residents and visitors on trails plan. Read on to learn more about this project in Door County!
Door County is one of Wisconsin’s most popular vacation destinations for people who love the outdoors. Unfortunately, there are very few options for exploring the peninsula without a car. Earlier this fall, the village of Egg Harbor was awarded Transportation Alternatives Program funding to conduct a feasibility study for various trail connectivity projects. The proposed connector trails would provide 11 miles of new trail, connecting the village to Gibraltar Area Schools, the Landmark Resort, and Frank Murphy County Park.
Most village residents and visitors are located just outside of the village downtown with its shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and community spaces. Currently, safe walking or biking options into the village are non-existent. The Wisconsin Bike Fed has included the Egg Harbor project in its list of Statewide Priority Projects – follow the link(s) to read more about Egg Harbor and other projects!
From now until December 11th, the Egg Harbor Community is seeking public input on the trails plan from residents, nearby community members, and visitors to the area. The Bike Fed’s Executive Director, Kirsten Finn, will be participating in two public input sessions in the Great Hall at Kress Pavilion (7845 Church Street) in Egg Harbor on December 12th:
- Session 1: 10 AM to 12 PM
- Session 2: 5 PM to 7 PM
You can take a few minutes to provide your input and fill out the survey at the following link:
