We appreciate your interest in supporting the Wisconsin Bike Fed now and into the future. Every gift contributes to better biking in Wisconsin. Commonly called “planned gifts,” future gifts from your estate can include bequests, securities, charitable trusts, life insurance, retirement accounts, annuities and more.

Designation
The most important step is ensuring you have the correct name and designation number on your estate planning documents to ensure that the Wisconsin Bike Fed receives your gift.

Recommended language for a bequest:
I/we bequeath to the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin Educational Foundation, Inc. (tax ID# 39-1686663), located in Wisconsin, ____% of my residual estate – OR – the sum of $______ to be used for charitable purposes set forth in this statement of intent
If you are giving through another vehicle and need to change the Beneficiary Designation:
- Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank, or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary, Payable on Death (POD), or Transfer on Death (TOD) form.
- Name Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin Educational Foundation as a beneficiary on the form and designate the percentage you would like to give to the Bike Fed (1-100%). Some financial institutions allow for a flat dollar amount provided the amount is still in the account.
- Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank, or financial institution.
Century Club Profiles
We will occasionally share profiles of Century Club members who have made a commitment to Bike Fed in their estate plans. We would like to introduce you to two of them:
Barb Connolly-Blick’s lifelong love of biking, and dedication to the Wisconsin Bike Fed and the cycling community, is both meaningful and inspirational. She was a valued team member and mentor to thousands of youth.

Melissa Putzer and Wade Loberger
“Death is an awkward topic, but none of us are getting out of this life alive. Despite all the awkwardness, people tend to have strong wishes about how things should be handled after they’re no longer around. My husband and I don’t have children. We do have twenty-four bicycles between the two of us! Riding has always been a shared passion, so including the Wisconsin Bike Fed in our planning was an easy and immediate decision.”
Dick and Sandy Pfahler lived most of their married life in Oregon, WI and spent time with friends, volunteering and traveling. But, Dick’s passion was cycling. Dick’s cycling buddy, Don Ehlenfeldt, shared that Sandy did not cycle but supported their cycling adventures any way she could – including serving ice cream at the end of Bike MS. Dick’s riding partners, and lifelong friends, raised money and awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society as part of the Fraboni’s Porketta Pedalers team. Don remembers “a time when I wanted to bike the century loop – Dick didn’t want to do it, but said I shouldn’t bike alone. So away we went and he encouraged me along the way. He was peacefully supportive of all riders, a teacher of bike technique, and always there to give his teammates encouragement.”
